real life

So, I'm moving in a week or so. Things I will have (that I don't have now) include:
washer/dryer
dishwasher
central heating and air
two bathrooms
a kitchen table
300 more square feet
close access to trash/dumpster
full size oven
ice maker
pbr wind chimes

I expect to be more productive. In the fall I'm taking two classes to finish the BA in English that I punked out on a few semesters ago. British Lit II and Post Colonial Literature. When I'm busy, I'm more productive.

But it's going to be tedious to move the 2000 piece puzzle I have (not very much) been working on.

I like to listen to the Dresden Dolls when it feels like summer. I don't listen to them when it's cold. Music is temperate. Cold weather bands and hot weather bands. In Georgia there isn't much room for cold weather bands. If I lived in Ohio or Michigan I would have very different taste in music.

Things I've found while cleaning my apartment, getting ready to move:
hula hoop
reindeer antler headband
Judy Blume's Summer Sisters
handfuls of pennies
lightbulbs where the box is half eaten (by cats?)
Dollhouse by Mike Boyle (Does anyone want it? I could never finish it).
chewed up pens
100's of hangers

I want to go to six flags. I want to go to a water park. I want to go to ohio and visit my friend erik. I want a tattoo (maybe). I want to go running in the mornings. I want to finish Blood Meridian. I want to buy more books. I want a bubblegum machine. I want an axe to cut trees down with. I want a pump for my bike tires. I want someone to roller blade with. I want new clothes for summer.

I'm tired of smiling all day at work. My face hurts.

We are going to build a fort for the cats. One of the requirements for the fort is that I have to fit inside it.

I told a guy he had gerbils in his head after he talked about the "coon" that he works with. I have never heard a real person say "coon." I wonder what else I have never heard in real life.

If I lived where you lived I would roller blade with you, definitely. I feel like it's one of those things that's just not cool to do, but whatever. I would. And I'd probably wear knee pads because I like my patellas.

Good luck with your move, and the classes! Ice!

I hear the word "coon" nearly every day. But, 'round here that's what people call Raccoons. We have a lot of them here in the sticks. They eat my cat food and get into my trash. One of them tried to move into my house once. I named him Pedro.
