Neat things that other people have already blogged about but maybe you don't read those blogs and you will feel happy when you read mine
I really like The Bunny Gives Us a Lesson in Eternity by Mary Ruefle.
Some of Sam Lipsyte's The Ask is up at Five Chapters.
I dig Unicorns by Joanna Ruocco.
Emerging Writers Network mentioned Peter Christopher who was and is an inspiration to me and the way I want to live my life.
I have a story that'll be included in Dzanc's Best of the Web 2010. And a ton of other people do too. Congrats to all of them. Excited to read that.

Dark Sky Magazine
I have a story at Dark Sky Magazine that is part of a flash fiction collective (with writing by Kathie Fish and Larry Fondation) that will run during the month of February. Each week's writing will have a different theme. This week's theme is curiosity. Next week will be love, followed by betrayal and finally, forgiveness.

100 books in 2010?
So in my attempt to read 100 books in 2010, I read five in the month of January. I'm going to have to step it up a notch.
I read:
The Failure Six by Shane Jones
World War Z by Max Brooks
Fugue State by Brian Evenson
The Way Through Doors by Jesse Ball
The Lone Surfer of Montana, Kansas by Davy Rothbart
I can't say enough about The Way Through Doors. It's amazing. It's hard to read because it makes me want to go write. It's the kind of book that stirs up ideas and fuels the imagination. It's the best book I've read in years. I've heard good hype about this book, but I feel like there should be more. People should be beating each other to death in the street.
World War Z was pretty awful, but I read it a little at time while reading other things. Parts of it were entertaining.
Fugue State was good, but I love Brian Evenson.
The Lone Surfer of Montana, Kansas was mediocre. Parts of it were really fun to read and parts of it fell flat and were overly sentimental.
I think I already talked about The Failure Six. I liked it. Liked Light Boxes better. Will buy anything published by Shane Jones in the future. Speaking of Shane Jones, it's February. Light Boxes could stand a rereading.
